Hotter than usual weather in the fishing port of Aitoliko, has led to an explosion of Tetragnatha spiders following a boom in mosquitoes - the arachnid army’s favourite food. The scene in the small western Greek town is an arachnophobe’s worst nightmare, with millions of the critters creeping around its nests. The spiders, which have strange elongated bodies, are able to scuttle faster on water than on ground and so prefer their coastal nest.
